Ground Handling

Kite, kite and then kite some more!  Ground handling is a key skill that makes flying all the more safe and fun.  During Sky Hiker flight training, lots of kiting will be done.  If there is good wind, prepare to learn to dance with your wing, if there is no wind, prepare to run your butt off!

Airspace and the FAA

Paramotoring is regulated by FAR part 103 and must also follow all airspace rules.  Sky Hiker Training will look at individual sites that will be frequented and help understand the local airspace to insure safe and legal flying.

Sport Progression

After learning to fly, the urge to take the sport further kicks in.  Once proficient and launching, landing and basic flight, a new stage of risk kicks in.  The desire to progress faster and complacency are two areas that bring in risk.  Sky Hiker training tries to emphasize the importance of holding complacency at bay and progressing slowing.  There should never be a rush to progress in this sport.
